The fourth season of the Paramount Network series “Yellowstone” threw twists and turns at its fan all season long. One of the most shocking moments in the fourth “Yellowstone” was the return of Jamie Dutton’s flame, Christina.
Katherine Cunningham, the actress behind Christina, was more than happy to be back with the “Yellowstone” cast. And she wasn’t just happy to reprise her role. Getting the chance to return was much bigger than the series itself. It presented her the opportunity to leave the city behind and enjoy the beauty of Montana during the middle of the pandemic.
“It was such a pleasure to be gifted the opportunity to work on Yellowstone Season 4,” she writes in an Instagram post. “We had been in lockdown in Los Angeles and everything was uncertain. I remember being deeply sad, in mourning for the life I knew. Then Yellowstone called and asked if my family and I wanted to come to Montana for a month. When we got there, it felt like taking a weighted blanket off our chests. One, because we were out of the city and two, the safety protocol production had put in place made us feel secure in our day-to-day. We could breathe again, hike the trails, we ran into SO MANY BEARS!”
Not only did Christina return but she also introduces Jamie to his son. It was a moment that threw “Yellowstone” fans for a loop but also made a big impact on the season. Keeping her earlier promise, Christina returns as Jamie lets go of the Dutton family in favor of his biological father. All seems well at first, but you know “Yellowstone” would throw a curveball at some point. Jamie is forced to kill his father, Garrett Randall, after being manipulated by his sister, Beth Dutton. There would no fairy tale new beginning for Jamie and Christina and we will have to see what the future holds for them and their baby.
‘Yellowstone’ Star Katherine Cunningham Shares Appreciation
Cunningham continues her post by saying her time in Montana filming “Yellowstone was a wonderful experience. “I usually do an appreciation post after a job,” she says. “This appreciation post feels different because I wasn’t just going to work, my family and I were getting out of the city to live our lives again.”
She concludes the post by thanking the “Yellowstone” cast and writer Taylor Sheridan. She says filming the show helped her to cope with the stress of life in the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Honestly, I’m just grateful to have been in touch with such wonderful human beings during a scary time,” she says “Thank you Yellowstone and Taylor Sheridan for having us. Most of all, thank you to the fans for watching.
“Yellowstone” fans certainly hope that Katherine Cunningham and Christina will be a big part of the fifth season and future season. We will have to wait and see what the future holds for Jamie and Christina.
