‘Yellowstone’ Star Kevin Costner Is Ready for An Intense Episode With Rip in New Pic

Yellowstone fans are in for an intense episode tonight, if the teaser and stills from the new installment are any guide.

In fact, Yellowstone star and executive producer Kevin Costner is ratcheting up the suspense for tonight’s episode. He posted a new picture of his character, John Dutton, and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) training their guns on someone at a diner in town.

“Let’s get ‘em, Rip,” Costner captioned the photo, which shows him brandishing a shotgun and Rip holding a pistol.

Yellowstone Season 4 Has Been Full of Eye-Opening Developments

Season 4 of Yellowstone has been packed with stunning revelations and new developments. (Spoiler alert: If you haven’t been watching Season 4 and want to find out for yourself what happens, read no further.)

We learned that Jamie’s (Wes Bentley) biological father, Garrett Randall (Will Patton), was behind the near-lethal attacks on the Dutton family last season. We learned through Carter’s (Finn Little) arrival that Rip may just have a paternal side, after all. And we saw Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) take over the offices Market Equities. There she found out the hedge fund plans to pave over her father’s beloved valley.

Consequentially for Costner’s character, we also learned that the governor of Montana, Lynelle Perry (Wendy Moniz-Grillo) – formerly a reliable ally and hookup buddy to John Dutton – is leaving office to run for Senate. And to John’s alarm, she was ready to endorse Jamie as her successor. The wily Dutton patriarch managed to change her mind, but he had to make a major sacrifice to do it. To head off Jamie, John agreed to run for governor himself.

Of course, running for office is the last thing John wants to be doing so soon after he retired from his livestock commissioner job. And Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) has been doing some pretty good work in that position. Could Kayce be in line to run for governor someday? Time will tell.

Now tonight’s episode promises to be more action-packed than any since the Season 4 premiere. The debut saw Kayce kill his father’s attackers and then methodically hunt down the rest of their comrades. What happens in the diner showdown? Catch Yellowstone at 8 p.m. ET on the Paramount Network to find out.

Costner Is In Full Cowboy Mode on Instagram

Between tour dates with his band, Modern West, Costner has found time to plug Yellowstone, especially lately. In a barrage of recent Instagram posts, Costner has delighted fans with pictures from the Yellowstone set, confessions about his Spotify playlist and more.

Of course, Costner still lags his co-star, Tate Dutton actor Brecken Merrill, who in the lead-up to the Season 4 premiere began posting behind-the-scenes pictures and detailed accounts from the filming of Yellowstone. But fans are obviously thrilled by any updates Costner posts, judging from his Instagram comments, and maybe the terse Oscar-winner will have more to say in future weeks.
