Laurel and Hardy

There’s a Laurel and Hardy movie night happening at a historic Glasgow venue

Brush off your bowler hat and get set for a night of classic entertainment!

Are you a fan of classic Hollywood films, slapstick comedy and peeks into the past?

Then this could be the perfect event for you.

A historic Glasgow venue has announced that it will be hosting a Laurel and Hardy movie night this spring.

The Britannia Panopticon Music Hall in Trongate, which first opened in 1857, and is the oldest surviving music hall in the UK, will be screening a number of films by the famous duo on April 3.

The hall is a fitting location for the event since it was where Stan Laurel himself made his stage debut back in 1906, when the legendary actor was still in his teens.

He later teamed up with the iconic Oliver Hardy in a pairing that spanned decades and brought both men immense fame.

The movies are being screened by ‘Sons of the Desert’ – an official Laurel and Hardy fan group named after the film of the same name. The event starts at 7pm and admission is free.
